GC Secretary Elder Erton Köhler Inspires Fijian Delegates to Become Part of God’s “Mission Miracle”
30 April 2026In harmony with the General Conference Working Policy on Archives, which calls for the careful preservation of church records and history, the Trans Pacific Union Mission has taken a significant step in safeguarding its heritage.
Earlier this year, Mrs. Sofaia Bulu from Fiji Mission had the privilege of travelling to the SPD Adventist Heritage Centre as part of a team of five. Their purpose was to gain valuable insight and practical guidance in preparation for establishing a TPUM Adventist Heritage Centre. That experience laid the foundation for what has now become a reality.
Yesterday marked a historic milestone with the official opening of the TPUM Archives Heritage Centre. The center was officially opened by SPD President Pr. Glenn Townend, alongside Heritage Committee Chair Mr. David Potter and former TPU Union Secretary Mrs. Jane Gibson-Opetaia.
Also present were TPUM President Pr. Charlie Jimmy, Fulton Adventist University Vice Chancellor Dr Ronald Stone, and Mission Presidents from across the TPUM territory, highlighting the significance of this important initiative.
Notably, Fiji Mission has taken the lead as the first Mission within TPUM to have its records officially archived at the new center.
The TPUM Adventist Heritage Centre will serve as a vital hub for preserving the history of the church, as well as a resource center for research-providing access to historical materials that will inform, educate, and inspire.
As Ellen G. White reminds us:
“We have nothing to fear for the future, except that we forget how God has led us in the past.”
This Centre stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness and reflects the church’s commitment to remember, preserve, and learn from its journey as it continues forward in mission.
