Nailuva church gets organised
21 July 2025By NASONI LUTUNALIWA

I recently returned from a mission trip to Nigeria in mid-March, where I had the privilege of conducting an evangelistic campaign at the Sangotedo Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lekki District, within the Lagos Atlantic Conference of the West Nigerian Union.
Over the course of two weeks, we witnessed the baptism of 31 precious souls who made the decision to follow Christ. This campaign was one of many evangelistic efforts taking place concurrently throughout the West-Central Africa Division, a clear testament to the growing momentum of God’s work in the region.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the South Pacific Division and the Trans-Pacific Union Mission for their generous sponsorship, which made this mission possible.
Their support enabled me to travel, minister, and return safely, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity.
This mission experience has profoundly impacted me. I was inspired by the dedication and zeal of our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ.
Their deep reverence and heartfelt worship each Sabbath — often spending long hours in church immersed in praise and the study of God’s Word — was a powerful reminder of the Psalmist’s words: “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere” (Psalm 84:10). This year’s theme, “I Will Go to the Ends of the World,” is not merely a slogan but a call to action.
We praise God that more mission initiatives are on the horizon. Through the SPD support and TPUM, 20 young Fijians will soon depart for Indonesia as missionaries and over 10 preachers are expected to travel to New Zealand and Australia in October to conduct evangelistic meetings.
As we look ahead, I wish to reaffirm our identity as a movement with a mission: “To make disciples of Jesus Christ, proclaiming the everlasting gospel to all people, and preparing the world for Christ’s return.”
This mission is grounded in Scripture, and it is only through prayer, the study of God’s Word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we can fulfill it effectively.
Our prophetic identity as Seventh-day Adventists, as revealed in Revelation 12:17 and further echoed in the messages of Revelation 14, compels us to proclaim the everlasting gospel with urgency.
We are called to reach every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—wherever they may be.
The global structure of our Church allows for meaningful participation in mission.
Faithful stewardship through tithes, offerings, and 13th Sabbath contributions directly supports mission work and the deployment of missionaries to challenging and unreached territories.
The Fiji Mission remains committed to this cause. Each member has a vital role to play.
The Great Commission must be at the heart of our lives. Sharing the gospel is not limited to pastors and evangelists; it is a collective responsibility.
We are called to witness, disciple, nurture new believers, and teach the truth of God’s Word wherever we are placed.
In this rapidly changing world, the task may seem daunting. Yet, we have the assurance of Christ’s promise: “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20). We must be intentional in using every available tool—digital evangelism, media, television, and radio—to fulfill this sacred mission.
The “I Will Go” initiative is a continuation of our prophetic calling. It is a divine invitation for each of us to be disciples in action—preparing our families, neighbours, colleagues, communities, and the world to meet their Saviour.
Let us go forward, united in purpose and strengthened by His promise.
