6 June 2025THE Fiji Mission held a heartfelt commissioning and farewell service on April 15, sending 15 young missionaries to serve in Indonesia and Timor Leste.
The event, attended by leaders from the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM), marked a historic milestone for the region.
Fiji Mission President Nasoni Lutunaliwa reminded the missionaries of their divine calling, encouraging them to trust in God’s promise: “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20)
These volunteers are part of Mission Refocus, a global initiative to revive the church’s commitment to evangelism.
The South Pacific Division and Southern Asia-Pacific Division have partnered to support this mission effort, allowing Fiji’s youth to share hope beyond their borders.
TPUM General Secretary Jane Opetaia praised their courage, affirming that their dedication has inspired many. As part of the celebration, each missionary received a special gift, symbolizing the church’s support and prayers for their journey.
The first group departed on April 16, with more set to join in the coming months.
Let us continue to pray for their safety, strength, and success as they share Christ’s love with new communities.
