Let us continue to grow
6 June 2025OFTEN stigmatized as a “redzone” because of crime, drug activities, and other illegal deal-ings, Qauia is a settlement that many regard with apprehension.
Its reputation can overshadow the resilience of its residents, much like the biblical Nazareth, which led Nathaniel to ask, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” But just as the answer was a resounding “YES” for Nazareth, so too is it for Qauia.
From March 16, Pastor Aisake Tiko Kabu, the Ministerial Secretary of the Fiji Mission, led a three-week evange-listic series in Qauia—the first of its kind since 2000.
His messages, focused on the hope found in the gospel and in Jesus Christ, resonated deeply with the community, offering light where many only saw darkness. The results were nothing short of miraculous.
At the conclusion of the series, 17 individuals — both young and old —made the life-changing decision to be baptized, publicly declaring their commitment to Christ.
This harvest of souls is a powerful testament to the unyielding reach of God’s love and the transformative power of the gospel, even in the
most challenging of environments.
“God’s Spirit continues to move even in communities facing difficult challenges,” Pastor Tiko Kabu shared.
“This is proof that no place is beyond the reach of God’s grace.”
As the Holy Spirit continues to work, the Fiji Mission encourages all to remain steadfast in prayer for high-risk and un-derserved areas, believing that many more pre-cious souls are still waiting to experience
the hope of Christ.
